POKOTABI / PLACES WORTH A DETOUR
ぷーれ
Puure, in Kamikitazawa, Setagaya, serves its signature roast Date chicken, pork confit and an appetiser platter featuring seasonal ingredients. Here’s what to enjoy at lunch and dinner.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
In the residential streets of Kamikitazawa, Setagaya, Puure’s roast Date chicken is an inviting place to start. Roasted until fragrant, the chicken is simply prepared to bring out its savoury flavour, and served with a generous helping of warm vegetables. It makes a satisfying centrepiece. Other hearty meat dishes include pork confit, slow-cooked before being finished until golden on the outside, and a beef hamburger steak with plenty of juicy flavour.
Before the main course, an appetiser platter makes a colourful centrepiece for the table. Charcuterie such as rillette, pâté and salami is served alongside vegetable-rich dishes, in portions that make sharing enjoyable. There is a wide selection of wine, too, making the platter a good match for a leisurely meal enjoyed course by course over a glass or two.
At lunchtime, set plates pairing a main dish with salad and bread are popular. Options include sautéed fish with simmered vegetables and a chicken-breast salad. The vegetable-forward plates suit anything from an everyday lunch to a meal when you fancy a change of pace. For dessert, there are house-made mille-feuille prepared in the restaurant and rich terrine, along with aromatic coffee—an inviting way to linger over something sweet.
The dining room has a calm atmosphere and attentive table service. As seating is limited, booking ahead is recommended for both lunch and dinner. Credit cards and PayPay are accepted, and the relaxed setting suits an easy meal with family or friends.
